Manitoba Youth Girls Tackle Opportunities
Manitoba Girls Football Association
Are you too young to play for the Fearless? Still want to give tackle a try?? Manitoba has been a leader in opportunities for youth girls to play the game we all love. The Manitoba Girls Football Association has been providing opportunities for girls to play tackle football against only girls since 2011. Current and former members of the Fearless created the program so girls didn't have to wait until later in life to experience the game. Still today, we have Fearless members that sit on the Board of the MGFA as executive and club reps, as well as many players coach within the MGFA.
Manitoba Minor Football Association
The Manitoba Minor Football Association also is an opportunity to play tackle football, The MMFA is a co-ed program that welcomes girls to play along side the boys. The MMFA follows a fair play model and all girls have the same opportunity as boys to play the game.
Winnipeg High School Football League
The Winnipeg High School League welcomes high school age girls to play for their school. Girls in this program must compete for playing time. Many girls who came up playing in the MGFA or MMFA have found success playing competitively at the High School level.
Team Manitoba is another option for young girls to play at a high competitive level. There is a national championship yearly where Team Manitoba competes against girls from across Canada. This program has tryouts to participate. The u18 age group has been competing since 2022 and new in 2026 is a Western Tournament for u16 ages. The Fearless are especially proud to have had multiple players coach for Team Manitoba and one of the Divisions at the national u18 tournament is named after one of our GMs.
